Yeah that one and it’s sequel are great games from everything I’ve seen. I have the second one but haven’t finished the first yet! I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played.

I don’t like playing scary games lol, but I watched my roommate back in college play it some. It looked legit scary and he said it was a good game.

Play them back to back. It’s a fun shooting/horror game experience. And shooting gets much easier later in the game.

It’s ok. Pretty clunky and not too scary.
Fixed a lot of the clunkiness with 2

I enjoyed both. Controls / Mechanics can be aggravating at times in the first one. Not always obvious what you need to do to survive an encounter.
Second one is more open with better mechanics. Both are worth a play.

I enjoyed the first one a good bit even if I didn't beat it. If you like more action-y horror like RE4/5, then you'll probably like it.

I got the first one the first black friday after it came out. From someone who loved a lot of the Resident Evils' I just couldn't get in to it. Controls were clunky as hell too.

do you need to play the first to get the story into the 2nd one?

Yes. It is a continuation of the story.
There is a ton of backstory and things you won't understand if you jump to the second one.
Mechanics aren't as bad as people are saying. Clunky doesn't mean unplayable. I think in most cases it is simply understanding you can't get caught if you want to survive. Shoot, run, shoot, run, shoot, run.
Markaplier has a good playthrough of this one on youtube. I decided to give this one a shot after watching him for a bit.

I beat the first one. I thought some of it was pretty clever stuff. You have to set booby traps to kill enemies and the bosses are pretty freaky. It gets stressful at times.
I struggled a lot on a few levels and the keys and the green stuff is important as you get farther in the game.

And don't spread the points all over the place. Pick a weapon and make it a monster. Don't waste points upgrading all of the weapons. Crossbow can be a beast when max upgraded. It is possible to miss it early in the game if you don't keep your eye out for it.
Laura is a bitch. She had me pretty stressed out.

I can`t remember the names. I just remember in the basement being a bitch and the hallway being chased.
Yes, the crossbow was the shite.
I grew tired of the game. It wasn't my usual type of game, but I liked what I saw on the preview. The beginning had me thinking this shite is cool as hell. Hanging in the bag upside down, that was the craziest start to a game I have ever played. I pushed through the game to finish it, because I was losing interest and wanted to get it over with.
