Ok, that makes sense. Before I moved, it kept bugging and I could not build the sniper tower. In my new zone, I can. I have not gotten any new quests yet, but I probably have to clear out the plague hearts again.

Rare Trader.
When a trader calls and there are 3 locations on the map, you need to go check it out. That is a rare trader.
Also need to pay attention and check out the Red Talon Trader. They always sell top notch weapons. Not sure if it tells you if a trader is Red Talon or not.

I've been to one trader, skipped on another because of fuel, and haven't had another. Haven't seen anything about Red Talon other than their broadcasts

How accurate are they? I like killing nauts but it does take way too much ammo. That isn't too much of a problem with my ammo press and munitions guy, plus I have 3 ammo outposts.

You get a smoke grenade. Might be hard on one moving or running around. This one was just laying down in a field

I had 2 running around in my base yesterday so I don't think an artillery strike on my base would have been helpful.

They can get in the base. Initially I thought they couldn't but they can. They get stuck for a little bit then bust through.
All of my guys are maxed out so they have enough health to withstand the attack. Plus I unload my weapon on the nauts head then go to town with my melee weapon.
By the time the second one dropped, my weapons were broken.
I have the baseball field base, so with all of that room, the naut wasn't really focusing on one person. They kept running around so they didn't damage anyone much other than me.

Dodge is your friend. They really don't have great AI so keep dodging when they run or go HAM at you. My usual gameplan is to unload every bullet into their head then just hack at them until they fall then do the finish move when they are staggered.
Make sure you have all of you survivors packing heat with the best weapons. Defense doesn't use bullets. Well, it uses no inventory bullets. If you aren't in a base when it gets hit you lose 3 ammo.

Never knew that about the ammo but I knew that the survivors didn't use ammo in defense. They are loaded up with some good guns, mainly 9mm. I'm starting to find better weapons though. I do dig my silenced .22 I have

Got another Red Talon Trader.
They don't let you know it is Red Talon. I think it just said wandering traders.
They had another .50 but I didn't purchase it. No need at the moment with all the hearts gone. I guess I could have purchased it to see how it worked on Juggernauts.
Now all 9 members of my base have high capacity weapons.
I'm going to wait until the weekend to start and finish the legacy quest.

plague zombies are all gone.
Still have juggernauts, ferals and screamers but the plague zombies are no more.

Ferals are probably the worst. Juggernauts are big and dumb and mostly slow unless they do their rampage run maneuver.
Ferals are damn fast and dodge. If you get a lucky shot on their head, they are easy to kill but I miss more often than hit.
At this point the only real dangerous situation is cleaning an infestation and suddenly a feral or two joins the party.
Firecrackers are a must in your inventory.
