Might be moving cross country for 3 months for work and will need to take the PS3 with me to keep me sane. Anyone ever flown with one? Checked or carry on and did they give you any shite for it? Don't know if this works just like a laptop that you have to carry on and place through the machine. Thanks.

Back in the day I used to fly with my xbox in my carry on... didnt give me any shite for it, just had to take it out of the bag every now and then.
I wouldnt check it if I were you... those dudes at the airport couldnt give a shite less about your bag.

they make you take out laptops so they can run them through separately now
so you'll probably have to take it out if you carry it on, at least for them to inspect

I wouldn't check it...F that noise. If you carry it on, you just have to take it out of the bag during security scans. You run the risk of looking like a tool bag with a gaming console, but when are you ever gonna see those people again?

I already look like a tool travelling with two cellphones and two laptops. Can you imagine how upset the people behind me in line would be when I grab four plastic bins for all my stuff.

Yes. They will ask you to take it out. Might bring it to the back and open it to check for bombs. Then give it back.
Def take it as carry.

My nephew had no problem flying his down when he moved. He wrapped it in clothes and checked it in.

I remember flying with a Gamecube and a Dreamcast shortly after 9/11, all they did was open up the bags and looked at the consoles themselves. They never even took them out the bag or even touch them.
That was ten years ago in San Antonio for what it's worth.

They gave me shite for carrying on my N64 back in the day. Wanted to open it up to look for bombs, but we're too lazy so they told me to go ahead. Obviously, this was in the 90s.
