I've tried a hard reset.

This is the only acceptable solution.

Put a new hard drive in it. Did mine earlier this summer and it's working great. Was like $80 for a good solid state drive and it definitely works way better now.

Detailed steps on how

Specific to Green Screen
https://www.minitool.com/data-recovery/xbox-one-green-screen.html

Everything is cloud saved, so you could find another cheap used Xbox One or upgrade to Series X or S

I would avoid PS5, it is a dying environment. Many here just put their heads in the sand, since they do not want to look stupid already buying one.

Sounds like it's time to get a Series X.

Did you try to just reformat the old one first before completely replacing?

My son just upgraded to the Series S. I always get his cast offs.

Yea I tried. It wouldn't take. Kept green or black screening.

Does wrapping it in a towel still work?
