The piece to the right is the "bridge" for detaching the sides and making up a controller
Demo video: Concept UFO

It's just a demo that they're still making tweaks to so no official release date or pricing.
Looks pretty interesting although it's a straight ripoff

With actual horse power behind it. I'll never get it, but it's intriguing.
Imagine switch owners hearing "you know that really good 3rd part title coming out on most platforms? You can play it too. "
Obviously Nintendo's 1st party lineup is its biggest draw, but I'm really curious to see what an alienware mobile gaming device can do.

Looks to be a pretty high quality device considering it's just a demo prototype

It's the 2nd Shield, just like the Switch.
I didn't play that in handheld, and dont play the Switch in handheld.
The device is cool, but kinda stops there for me.

If the switch was Android based or had a better tablet OS with better tablet apps like a browser, Netflix, etc, I would buy it in a heart beat.
This device is going to be full fledged windows 10, so it's going to be a cool device. A surface pro but with better gaming support

I'd have to imagine with all that in mind this isn't going to be a budget item if it ever hits the market
Probably looking at over 1000 if I had to guess. But if it could replace your desktop PC and double as a portable gaming device that you could bring with you when you travel I could see it being a viable product.

Ain't gonna happen. It doesn't even have Intel's Iris graphics in there.
It would be a great in home steam link though

I'll trust you know more about this than me
But why wouldn't it be capable of hooking up to an external display?

I still think it’ll stonewall just like the Xbox just for the fact that Nintendo’s business is also driven a lot by their first party titles. What’s Alienware gonna be other than a hub for high fidelity games? They ain’t gonna but game studios. At least not within the next 5-10 years.

Yeah and you'll have to forgive my ignorance...I just don't know what games are available on PC that would translate that well to this type of device because I haven't done any sort of PC gaming since like 1994
