Yea, I never look at stickies on this forum. Will probably miss the discussion now. Traffic is so low here that I just look at the latest post.

Generally you can be pretty fair however:

1. You often present comments as fact or as judgement, rather than preference. They are not trying to get you to like it,. The argument gets murky. They don't want you to like it, well except for Breesus, people often are defending the quality of the Nintendo game in question. Things can be good, and you also not like them. It goes both ways.

2. You seem to buy Nintendo things and expect different outcomes? It's often confusing. And that's complicated by the idea that Nintendo does what it does well, and generally, outside of some obvious problems, does produce high quality software and products that people like.

3. You want Zelda on your PS4. F that idea. That's sort of an insult to someone who likes Nintendo. Plus I don't see you asking for Uncharted on the Switch or something. You don't see it, but it's kind of an anti-Nintendo stance to take since people who generally enjoy Nintendo, enjoy NINTENDO, and that means the whole package. The good and the bad. We don't need to rehash, but if Nintendo doesn't control the vertical, they'd lose a lot of their innovative charm. No one wants to give that up.

Regarding point #2 and #3, people don't want Nintendo to change much. Even if that means dealing with questionable decisions like the online piece, cloud saves, and general Video Game QoL issues. Is that a problem? Sure. But people see it as a philosophical issue mostly. The more they become like MS and Sony.....the more they become like MS and Sony. And that's a bad thing for a lot of people.

Correction. Devolver Digital is on the 10th at 8pm. Not the 11th.

On that note, my Nintendo predictions:
1. Fortnite on Switch
2. Footage on Fire Emblem Switch
3. Gameplay for Smash Switch
4. New Star Fox game (not entirely sure it's going to be a kart racer but lots of smoke there too).

All safe bets. I'd probably add Metroid footage as well as the big teaser. That or Pokemon footage.

5. Rebrand of Virtual Console to so other name that has a limited selection of games from older generation.

I think this is connected to the stock drop.....they aren't going to deliver anything modern.

BONUS Round: At least two moments where they spend way too much time on very odd game (mobile, LABO, or amiibo all qualify).

Have you seen Sushi Striker? That thing is going to be like center stage. I mean it looks sort of fun, but that's the kind of move Nintendo would pull.

I do think we get one huge surprise announcement in the form of Animal Crossing, another Maker game (Metroid maker anyone?), or, gasp, Kid Icarus.

I'm just saying what it seems like. I could be wrong, but that's the way it comes off.

I mean your response to a Zelda comment was:

quote:

The rest of us will continue to suffer through being able to play good games.

I know you like to push buttons, but you know exactly what you are doing.

And haven't you bragged about being able to stir up Nintendo fans? It's one thing to do it, it's another thing to do it then say "Why don't you like the things I like? You're crazy."

Interesting. I thought it was rather obvious.

If it's "there's no way someone could NOT like Mario Kart", then I can't help you

While true, I actually agree with you about Mario Kart. I can't just exercise my dominance online in Nintendo games. They do too much to keep competition tight. Not going to lie, while I like MK, it's tough to enjoy the new versions when in MK64 I was allowed to routinely stomp people.

Online games aren't necessarily for fun, although Nintendo makes a lot of confounding decisions to make it so. I stopped playing Arms too for that reason.

And other than match-making, they've let skill rule Splatoon, which is why it's now my most played Switch game. I hope Tennis is the same, but I have my doubts.

But to flip it back, I get it. Most online games have terrible communities for that very fact. I think Splatoon rides the line well, and that's why it's successful. The individual matches where you get screwed might last 5 min. at worst, so it's tough to get angry.
