Zuppardo's Building a New Store

It showed up in my FB feed, but there was no story, just a single statement.
It's going to be right next to their existing store which is aging. It even has sloping floors near the produce section. Construction is supposed to take about a year.
I know they were interested in the space across the street where Rouse's is now when that property was on the market.

It’s going to be a very nice store. Once the new building is complete, the existing one will be demolished for a new parking lot. Great family.

It's a bit out of my way, but I do make the occasional run out to their store when they put meat specials in the paper. That store is pretty dated and glad to see they are building a new one.
Living in Mid-City finds me most often shopping at Rouses and Costco with a bit of Winn-Dixie thrown in if their sales ads show something too good to pass up.

They are way overdue. I was in there last week to pick up some of the best corn and crab bisque around and the store is filthy.

I don't think it's dirty, just old.
One of the things I like about it is that it is compact so you don't have to walk a mile to shop. But if they do get more room, I'd expect their selections to broaden.
I have always loved their meat department.
