Z grills

Anyone else ordered a pellet grill from Z grills under their crowdfunding deal?

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Reqteq when I came across this. Buy a qualified grill now and receive a new grill every 5 years for the next 50 years. The deal is transferable.

A new grill every 5 years beats the hell out of a long warranty.

I’ve smoked chicken thighs, pork butt, Chuck roast, spare ribs, and beef short ribs in it so far and all were great.

I have a Camp Chef at work, Traeger at home, and a Z Grill at the camp. They all work about the same, but there are obviously some things that I like about each one that maybe the other ones lack. The Z Grill I bought 5-6 years ago was I believe a 700D with a stainless steel lid and cast iron grate. Its simplicity makes it hard for anything to screw up. Frankly the one I have is more heavy duty than the Traeger I have at home. Back then Z Grill was new and they were dirt cheap on pricing for what you got. I believe I paid $575 and got a cover, a thermal fitted blanket which is handy when cold, and two bags of oak pellets in my package deal. Hell of a bargain. They originally built a lot of Traegers and being the good entrepreneurial Chinese that they are they took their grills to the global market themselves.

If they are offering a replacement grill of equal type size every 5 years that’s an unbelievable deal because I’ve really liked my Z Grill.

I’m about to buy a Recteq Flagship 1100 today because they are on sale, but if Z Grill is still offering that replacement grill it certainly gives me pause. I’m wanting a Reqteq 1100 because it claims it can reach 700 degrees. My biggest complaint about a pellet grill is only being able to get to 450 degrees with the ones I have now.

.

Would be somewhat concerned with receiving new grills 10-20-50 yrs down the road with a company offering this deal

I’d bet 61 when my next grill was sent. 66 on the 2nd one. 71 on the 3rd one. One would think something else will come out better than a pellet grill over the next 5-10 years. Hell I’m just concerned about living today and tomorrow.

It will probably go over 700. My 340 has hit 750 before.

Definitely a concern, but even if I only get a 2nd grill, it’s worth it. I think I saw that you can even pay $100 to move up the date and get your next grill early. Perhaps you need one for a camp or want to give one to your dad.

The 5 year window works perfectly for me because I plan to move around that time and I won’t have to move my current grill but just have the new one shipped to my new home.

Just smells like a scam. They will be out of business in less than 5 years.

Yup.... 11 grills for $777 reeks of scam and the fact that they're using crowdfunding makes me question the stability of the company. They say that this is to "grow Z Grills sustainably." Why not use profit or private investment instead?

Company is pretty well established. If they go out of business, I still got the smoker I paid for and lost on the futures bet. Not a big deal. It would be different if you didn’t receive your first grill for 5 years.
