... That's a very important side note. I'm very interested in this. How can we get in touch?

GTFO & crawl back to where you came from.

I bet that some distributors that get large amounts of business from the big companies get pressured into not carrying competitors brands every once in a while.

EDIT: Looks like they have in the past.....

I've talked to the guys at Mockler BR's AB distributor) about picking up Yuengling and New Belgium, but the breweries aren't looking to move into new markets right now. The distributors would love to have their hand in those money jars.

I can get DFH or New Belgium (and others) from time to time on trips to Houston if anyone in BR really wants some.

I love Yuengling Light - it's becoming my go to "daily" light beer. And they sell it everywhere up here.

Yuengling was all the rage here in Georgia when you couldn't get it here. I fell into the lemming like fan-dom as well.

As soon as we could buy it anytime we want, the rage went away.

Yuengling is a decent mass produced American lager. No more. No less.

Yeah, watch Beer Wars, it happens. I'm sure they are swayed only so much though, and things are prob changing with the craft beer scene rising while BMC is dropping.

Let me run down the list of reasons why you remain to look like a dip shite, but I'll be glad to correct you.
1. You post an article about a supplier (not a wholesaler) using their "enormous muscle" to push smaller companies out of business.
2. In the US everything involving beer is through a 3 tier system. Supplier, wholesaler then retailer. This alone is reason enough to wonder why you post a article about AB flexing their muscle when were talking about wholesalers picking up new brands of craft beer.
3. The article you post is from 1997. So much has changed since that irrelevant article that it blows my mind you were able to find such crap. Comparing what distributors are doing now to what a supplier was doing in 97 is ridiculous.

FWIW I'm sure you're just one of the miserable assholes who bitch and cry about the beers we don't have but when they are readily available resort back to your natty light. If thats the case and you just wanted to rant you need to get your facts straight.

Far from it but thanks for the credit. You took the time to research for an article that was irrelevant to the discussion. So I felt the need to clear up the confusion. Done.

Talking about coming out guns blazing

Just wanted to add that it also my favorite berr, grew up on it in Va and miss it very much.

Someone told me it was illegal to sell in La, is this true?

No one has the distributing rights to sell it so I guess it would technically be illegal to sale in LA. I've heard Yuengling's trying to purchase an old MillerCoors brewery (I believe) to up production. Maybe well see it soon..

MS's alcohol laws are freaking ridiculous!!!

Talk about crappy laws....wanted to tour the Lazy Magnolia brewery - they cant even serve beer to sample (legally) during a tour! They give you a list of places that carry their brews. Pathetic MS....just pathetic

I hope that when you die, wherever you end up you are forced to drink shitty, mass-produced, cheap watered-down beer for the rest of eternity.

Three tier system has producers, distributors, and retailers. By supplier I'm assuming producer and by wholesaler I'm assuming you mean distributor. Top three producers do have some sway with distributors. Why do their buildings, trucks, etc have Bud, Miller, Coors logos on them. Also, BMC often controls how the shelves at stores are stocked which affects sales.

Beer wars addresses the same issues. It was made in 2009

I'm kind of playing devils advocate here. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying that gabe311 isn't as wrong as you think he is.
