I must be the only person who liked OG ghost over DDH ghost.... Both are fantastic though.

2017 was a fantastic year for Louisiana craft beer!
Upvote. Agreed.
Listing the top 5 wouldn’t be fair since Parish would dominate. What they did during Grand Reserve Month was insane: Maple Shade, DDH Ghost & Atticus Atlas could all easily make the top 5 cut. Reve could be in there too.
So instead, how about the Top 5 beers from the top 5 breweries in the state.
Parish - DDH Ghost, this beer is on pace to be one of the highest ranked Untappd beers ever. It lives up to the hype.
Urban South - Finial DIPA batch 2...these guys had a meteoric rise in popularity in 2017. They killed it with everything.
Great Raft - an OG favorite. Old Mad Joy BA in Pappy was their best effort recently.
NOLA - any brew from NOLA’s funk series could have made the list. I’ll go with Melon Collie & the Infinite Sourness as my favorite. The nostalgic Smashing Pumpkins bottle may have created a slight bias with this pick. But regardless, all the Sours are phenomenal.
5aCourtyard deserves some love for any of their IPAs. They’ve certainly perfected the Haze Craze as well as any other brewery in the start. Rare Candy was my favorite.
5bGnarly Barley’s Jucifer deserves to be here. The first IPA people thought could compete with Parish in the distro world. Plus almost every beer they put out is really good.

I remember this thread in 2014 & 2015 and the difference is night and day. It would be incredibly hard for me to even pick a top ten this year with the number of great beers put out this year.

Of the ones i've had
1. Great Raft Come What Mayhaw
2. NOLA House of the Rising
3. Great Raft You Me and everyone we know
4. Parish Ghost in the Machine (release #12 or 13. This was with the old yeast. I distinctly remember the dankness and fruitiness of that beer. Bought several 4 packs and filled a growler for a bachelor party that weekend)
4. Parish Bloom (the first release)
5. Parish Reve Coffee Stout
6. NOLA Messipi Funk (Dirty)

Have you had it recently? Loved it when it first came out, but then it became bitterly to me.
