Ate there today and was extremely disappointed. Sides were small and the food was extremely eh. They don’t have shite on Blue Oak.

Crawfish left and soon went downhill fast. I won't go into details and if he wants to chime in he can.

I went 3x in a span of a month, March 2022 and it was awful each time.

done

edit, meant to say 2022 not 2020

My previous experience about a year ago was terrible. Unimpressive taste and small portions for the family combo. Gave it another chance last month and it was excellent. They definitely redeemed themselves. Tasted better than ever and the portions in the family pack were bigger than I’ve ever had in the past. Maybe it is hit or miss.

It’s never been good, and the prices have always been crazy to try & pay for that place

I've always preferred Blue Oak but CC was usually fine on occasion. Went in May and highly doubt I return.

From what I’m hearing the guy that had Fud Bar on Robert E Lee and then went to Blue Crab is now the GM at Crescent City. He was a good chef and good dude so expect it will improve in near future

Must be hit or miss nowadays. Went for Father’s Day and it was great.

I left last year. The perception was that I was elbows deep in the smokers there all the time, but I wasn't. I really only cooked about 12 days per year to help the guys, or fill in when they needed time off. I did oversee their cooking, and had a hand in the qc part of things. Doing that helped keep things up to par with whatever the CC standards were at the time. I'm not sure what they are doing these days. I hope they're doing well, and I wish nothing but good things for the guys in the pit room. They are some good guys in there.

His name is Erik, and he's been there for about a year. I don't think he was a chef, but I could be wrong. From what I've heard, he and his family owned Fud Bar, and he managed the Blue Crab.

That's good to hear. Father's Day is, by far, the busiest day of the year for that place. I'm glad to hear that the guys were able to pull through.
