Wireless Meat Thermometer

I'm looking at the Meater or the MeatStick because I'm tired of the wires. Anyone that has either of these how is the app for ease of use and would you recommend the one you have?
TIA
TIA

I have a meatr. I like it a lot but I give it 4/5 stars for one main reason. The internal temp probe must be inside something to use the entire device. I know that sounds weird but let me try to explain.
The probe has two separate thermometers. The sharp side is the internal probe. The flat end is the ambient temp side. The internal probe end has a max temp of around 250. If it gets hotter than that, it will damage the unit.
That being said, the ambient temp end will not register unless the ambient temp is twice as high as the internal temp.
Sooooo....... you must have the probe inserted into a food if you want the ambient temp to register. Where the problem occurs is when I am bringing my grill up to temp, I won’t have my food on the grill. I can’t just set the probe in my grill because it won’t work. I get around this by sticking the probe into an onion or an orange and putting that on the grill, then when it is time to cook, I pull it and put it in the meat.
It just feels like a design flaw.
ETA: once the cook is underway, I love the performance. Overall, I am very glad I bought it.

The concept of the Meatstick is awesome.
One probe, no wires, both the internal temp and ambient temp in one probe.
I don't own one, but would love to know how they work in real life conditions.

Very interesting, solid review!
Have you checked the internal temp output with something like a thermapen? Are the numbers close?
Have you had any issues with connectivity?

I use an old ipad mini as the cloud connect to view the grill temps from anywhere.

Getting mine today. This has me thrown off. If I’m smoking something at say 250 grill temp to an internal temp off 200, the Meater won’t give me the ambient reading?

Yes I have. It is spot on.

That is what the instructions have said but I guess at higher temps, it registers anyway. I haven’t had any problems with that scenario.
ETA: also, after you use it, you have to clean the smoke off of the ambient temp flat side. If you don’t, it won’t make contact with the charging points so it will be dead the next time you have to use it.

the internal probe does not like high heat. over 500 I think . the ambient part can handle high heat.
