Since nobody has ever been to Wilmington I'll share the couple places I went to:

Last night walked to a place called Dock St Oyster Bar because it was close, I like oysters, and it had a good crowded dive look to it. Got a dozen raw local oysters and a Mahi Mahi entree. Oysters were small but good. $20/ dozen good? I don't know about that. Oysters away from the gulf are expensive as shite. The Mahi dish was pretty simple (seared fillet, garlic potatoes and steamed veggies) but everything tasted great. Most of the people in there were getting these bigass steamed platters with shrimp, clam, mussels, snow crab, and oysters. They looked killer. Girl at the bar recommended going to River Street brewery for beer but I decided to do that for lunch because I was woe out and she said the food was "amazing".

Got business tended to early and show up at River Street Brewery at 11am for beer and lunch before flying out. They don't open till 11:30. So I walk across the street to a place that was open to drink a couple beers and kill 30 minutes. Place was called Beer Barrio. 30 taps and "locally sourced Mexican fare". I wasn't eating but the dude next to me was putting down some killer looking tacos. The beer selection I don't think would impress a real maven but it was good enough for me. Cool place and I bet the locally sourced Mexican fare is real good.

River Street Brewery. They had beer.

I got a Saison and a Red IPA. Both were really good I thought.

Not sure what the hottie from the night before thought was so amazing about the food. It was just bar food with burgers, nachos, wings and whatnot. Good bar food, but just bar food. Maybe they have a different dinner menu. Dunno. I got a cup of black bean chili that was pretty good and some pulled chicken nachos. They were pulled chicken nachos.

Anyway that was my 18 hour Wilmington dining tour incase anybody finds themself there. Downtown is awesome. I have been a few times previously to Wilmington but always stayed near the cookie cutter shite out by the airport. Downtown has lots of bars resturants to walk too and it's clean. Zero gutter punks, angry Mizzou types, stinky hipsters, or general trash to be found. Just laid back friendly folk from what I saw. Would recommend a visit or relocation.
