My viewpoint is that it has become obvious that even if everyone followed the rules to a T we still wouldn't be open.

I say this because the covid numbers for New Orleans are incredibly good and we haven't moved an inch.

I actually think schools opening is a solid metric. That being said, the little ones went back. Not little ones go back in a few weeks, assuming things go well. I'm expecting numbers to spike, but I'm a cynic.

This is gonna be a poliboard thread soon enough, but since we're offering our non-expert opinions, I think we either should have started a phased opening of schools a few weeks ago and rolled the dice, or we should have accepted that we were gonna keep them closed until January.

Once there is no spike from schools there will be something else.

Schools across the state have been back in, there is plenty of data.

This will be a very slow recovery and things will never be quite the same anywhere...
Baton rouge and new orleans have one thing in common...HORRIBLE HORRIBLE MAYORS...
