The Cove bootlegs it from Texas. Mockler releases it in April.

Negative ghost rider. The cove had an agreement to sell it from kegs earlier

Negative ghost rider. It won't be released in kegs and 6 pks in Louisiana until May 20. Only avalible in bombers on April 1. Cove must be bootlegging if they have it. New Belgium always starts their roll out with bombers only. It's keeps the tradition of how they started out selling it in the back of the owner's wife's car (Kim, now CEO of New Belgium). They don't make special deals with anyone. And if anyone let it out of the warehouse early they would probably be fired very quickly. It will hit stores tomorrow.

Since you don't work for the cove or new Belgium you should know

Who has a written contract? The Cove? No they don't. I work in sales for the distributor. If you're familiar with beer laws at all, you'd know that what you are saying is highly illegal. The bar cannot buy beer from or sign a contract with the brewery. Exclusivity contracts are also not legal, no matter who they are signed with.

It's an exclusivity contract with the distributor and it is highly legal

I do work for Mockler. The only one who has legally have the exclusive distribution rights to new Belgium products to the Cove and the Baton Rouge area.

Wrong. We would put at risk a billion dollar business to sign an exclusivity contract that would absolutely benefit us in no way what so ever? New Belgium will NOT sell us kegs at this time. We won't even take a check a penny over the invoices amount because its against the law.

Whole lot of fighting over a beer that is meh^meh.

It was worked out between new belgium and the cove. I am actually not sure it is exclusive. I was told by New Belgium executive they have only allowed it with us but cannot vouch for this. Just know we have it and a WRITTEN Contract signed by new belgium and distributor.
Posted on 3/31/13 at 10:30 am to oilmanNO
It is signed by Gary Mockler and Doug Mackey

It's not happening. If this word got out, we would lose too much credibility with our retailers. Not to mention the legality of the issue.
