Where can I find whole coffee beans that haven’t been sitting on a shelf for months or years?
I was gifted an espresso machine and would like to find something better than what can be found at the store. Cheapest options would be appreciated for now as I try to dial in and figure out the extraction process.

I get mine from Fresh Market by Perkins Rowe. They go through a good bit of beans and I haven’t had any that weren’t good.

I like Cafeciteaux, which can be found at places like Alexander’s and Calandro’s. The stock has grown a little spotty and roast dates are sometimes missing, but it’s still good stuff and not sitting on the shelves for months if you do see it. I’ll usually grab French Truck is Cafeciteaux is sold out.

Calandros has fresh beans from local roasters. That's where I get my French truck beans.
But any other local coffee shop will have fresh beans. I like Reve and FT best. I enjoy City Roots coffee from their shop, but my grinder did not like their beans

French Truck is solid. Most important part of espresso besides beans is the grinder. If you’re serious about home espresso, upgrade your grinder.
