Who knows their Boston hole-in the-wall seafood dives?

Was in Boston some years ago, at least 15 yrs, locals pointed us to a local seafood joint, cannot remember the name. You had to go down to the harbor and catch a water taxi and ride off across the water. The joint was basically a plywood shack but they laid out some serious seafood and beer. Does anybody know this place?

Taking the ferry from where to where? Downtown to Eastie? Charlestown?
Yankee Lobster is what comes to mind but I doubt it. If it’s been 15 years it probably doesn’t exist anymore.

That's all I remember, we got on a boat that said Water Taxi and it was maybe a 10-15 minute ride.

We just had lunch there two weeks ago. We stumbled upon it going to Harpoon for beers. Lobster roll and chowder were ok. Not really my type of food

Yeah it’s not very good. I’ve walked or driven by it a million times and only eaten there once.

I spend a lot of time in Boston for work.
I would HIGHLY recommend you go to Neptune Oyster. Its in the north end. Small dive spot with only bar seating. Put your name on the list and walk around north end until they call you.
Everything there is fantastic and incredibly fresh.

Dude, I love Neptune but the last word I would use to describe it is “dive.”
It’s small, and the seafood is great, but it’s very well known by locals and tourists alike and is a nice place. It’s the furthest thing from a dive.

Neptune is a great late afternoon experience ... when it's less crowded and the oysters/crisp wine flow.
