Southern Maid (it’s a big donut)

Followed closely by

Joanna’s
Tubbs Hardware
Lilahs

All of the above are winners though

They don't celebrate Mardi Gras in East Texas.

Lilah's is very popular and good. They sell a ton of them in a variety of flavors.

Lowder Baking Company is a new local place. I've had theirs twice and liked it.

This is kind of cheating, but Bergeron's cajun meats sells Gambino's king cakes from New Orleans. They're damn good.

That's so weird. Why do those 400,000 people keep showing up every year around February?

Picked up Lowder’s and Lilah’s last weekend. Much preferred Lilah’s. Not sure how Lilah’s compares to Julianne’s.

Lowder’s is new and is much closer to true king cake IMO. Lilah’s and Julianne’s are good if you want numerous flavors and fillings, but they don’t taste like authentic king cake to me.
