there's some quality control issues (or I have really bad luck). I had several arrive damaged, and not the kind consistent with shipping. Scratched glass, chips inside the base, etc.
They are all hand blown, so maybe that plays into it? If you put 2 next to each other you can see slight differences in the shape, rim, etc… Luckily I haven’t had any issues like you have described though.

Evening baws.
Love a good Stagg Jr
Started low tonight, FPD was a sample of Michter’s Toasted from a buddy, I really want to try to get my hands on a Toasted Rye (one of my favorite bottles).

This one (16) has more maple than cherry. SJr has been one of the few allocated bourbons I've had good luck with at retail.
I'll be interested in hearing others chime in on batch 18. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but the profile is significantly different (cinnamon and maple). I guess we'll have to wait until 19 to know if it's a one off or a new direction. They changed the name, but that doesn't always equate to substantive differences.
Re: Michters, I've never had the toasted rye but would love to try it. Their barrel strength rye is one of my favorites.

Stagg Jr is one of my favorites, unfortunately the most recent one I’ve tried is the 15, which I thought was a cherry bomb.
