Very stupid question but can you buy whiskey in barrel and just store it for as long as you want to age it yourself?

Yes you can but just because it is older does not necessarily make it better.
I know some guys that have a barrel of Jack Daniels and George Dickle and I have tasted some that was taken out over a span of 5 years. To me the younger sample was better.

Whole Russels line is good.

Went to Dinner Lab in Baton Rouge last night. The last meal had the following drink as a pairing. It was very good and reminded me of a light a and refreshing Old Fashioned. I am going to try and duplicate.

yea, i've seen Blanton's around for sure. I could certainly get a few bottles today if i really wanted some. Now Weller, I havent seen since some came out a lil while back.
