Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch appreciation thread quote: it was legit Several people with multiple bottles and 10 out of the 30-40 people there I knew drew a blank. Ok. Fwiw, I like the guys at HP, and if it was stacked for regular customers, I'm ok with it. Kind of the way it should be IMO. There's really not a great way to distribute the precious few that make it into circulation. Give it to good customers and it pisses the random hopefuls get pissed, do a truly random drawing and the regulars get pissed off. What's a store owner to do?
I struck out at the Hokus Pokus drawing as well. What left a bad taste in my mouth was that I brought my wife and they wouldn't let her sign up for the drawing because we live in the same household. Yet I saw several other "couples" sign up and win. They had people bringing extended family and they let them sign up as well.

That's shitty... What if both people from the same household are bourbon drinkers??

I struck out at HP last night too. shite was so rigged. They didn't even try to hide it.

Husband and wife can't sign up? Didn't know that. In that case, neither should anyone with the same address, home or work. Like someone bringing their entire office in, with any bottles pulled going to a single person (Calandro's drawings last year). I think couples not being allowed to sign up is a bunch of crap and I'm not married.

I don't agree with it either but I'm willing to play by the rules. Then I saw multiple "couples" winning bottles. I think they were letting certain people sign up with their Wife, Dad, Sister, etc and others could not. If you want to do it that way just sell it out right to those people. My money will be going to the stores that rewarded me this Fall.

Chimes east has them bottled. $10
And it's the 2013 version. My bad.

I didn't with last night either. Rules were one entry per address. The rest was fair game. I also don't support any idea that it was rigged.

I didn't say it was rigged. Just that the rules didn't apply to everyone. Besides, what's the difference if a guy brings his wife to sign up or his girlfriend, dad or sister for that matter?

Strike out for me as well at HP last night. I think the "couples" may have been just dating or friends, therefore from different households. I don't think it was rigged, but you could circumvent the rules by bringing friends who were there to give you multiple chances. Kind of sucked to see people leave with two when so many got nothing. At least I left with a few Grand Reserves as consolation prize.
To be honest, I am getting less and less interested in the Pappy, BTAC stuff. It is nearly impossible to get unless you know someone or haunt the liquor stores daily. There is too much good stuff available to fight over what is mostly media induced hysteria. That said, I would buy one in a second if I could. I'm just not sure I want to chase it anymore. It can't be that good.

Or 10 of their coworkers? Sounds like they have added to the list of reasons not to get married. Cut your chances to win in half! Wonder if the earlier poster hoisting two bottles will step back in and tell us how many tickets he had in the hopper?

Come on G. You know I needed a Pappy 20 and a Sazerac 18 to complete the Pappy and BTAC set this year.

I got a saz 18 if you got a wlw.
I didn't get a pappy 15 yet this year but I'm still working on that :)
