Judge, if you dont mind paying a little shipping, you can order some RHF online and have it shipped.

https://www.luekensliquors.com/

$48.99 + $14.46 shipping = $63.45 total

It's a select barrel for Luekens and its very good. I just ordered a second bottle.

If 8 beers = hoarding, how many bottles of bourbon = hoarding? 2?

If I were a piece of shite I would go troll the beer thread. But I'm not. They've got their thing going, and we've got ours....

Yep that is a nice gesture...we do that too...but it always seems to be overlooked like we are just hording for our self. For instance The birthday boy Thebeard....I have a bottle of elmer t lee commemorative and 4 roses limited 2014 waiting for us to meet up and thats the tip of the iceberg. Hunting for rare beers id imagine is much different than bourbon. You at least have several cases to have a chance at buying...that are displayed on the floor...and come out a few times a year. Some bourbons there might be one or two bottles that make it to a store and its tucked away in the back for the lucky person. Those bottles are the ones that come out once a year...so yes if we have chances to buy more than one we do. Sometimes we share...sometimes we dont...is what it is.

I don't post in the bourbon thread, because honestly, I don't know my bourbon.

But I will say that the beer mavens/nerds/snobs are very much a community that looks after one another. I did buy over a case (28 bottles to be exact) of Ghost in the Machine. Of that number, 8 were for myself. The rest have gone to friends who couldn't get away from work to buy it on a Thursday morning, or who were out of town, or who live in a place that doesn't distribute it. I certainly didn't buy any just because it is a limited release or just to keep other people from getting it. I bought it because it's a damn good beer and I want to share it with like minded people.

I understand beer and bourbon are different, but if you're buying rare beer just because it's rare, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

So this is what we've resorted to?

Beer snobs coming in a bourbon thread to tell us how noble they are in their love spreading and Robin Hooding? I'm pretty sure the real reason Unc bought his 8 bottle hoard of GiTM is because he appreciates a good local DIPA.

The fact that its hard to find is part of the hunt which makes it fun. No one EVER said they were buying something SIMPLY because its hard to find and absolutely no one said they ever bought anything just so other poeple couldnt get any.

Now if yall wanna talk about Bourbon, talk away. If not, go back to your FBD brag thread

I'm pretty sure that's EXACTLY what he said.

But hey, carry on with your noble causes.

So a friend at church (obviously not Baptist) the other night mentioned that it was almost bourbon season. I told him I thought that was year-round! We chatted back and forth about it, and I said if they have it at the derby then I can have it in the summer. He joked that if I drank it year round he wouldn't judge.

Maybe there is another way to interpret this.

He didn't change his story until he was called out on it.

Does this constitute talking bourbon?
