Stopped at McScrooges in Knoxville. They let me taste four different bourbons. Elmer T Lee, Four Roses Small Batch and Single Barrell, and Bowman Brothers small batch. I ended up getting the Bowman Brothers small batch. About to hit the road, will write review later.

Try a bottle of Bowman Brothers, if you haven't already.

Bowman's products are pretty good, and the distillery isnt too far outside of DC

If you see it, the 2013 release of Abraham Bowman is excellent

I was talking to someone earlier that recommended I try some Japanese whisky. I really like bourbon and rye, but I'm not a fan of scotch. I was under the impression that Japanese whisky was much more like scotch than anything else. Does anyone know of a Japanese product that more closely resemble bourbon or rye?

That's what I thought. Guess I'll stick with good ol' merican whiskey.

Irish whiskies are an interesting change of pace. Try some of the single malt Irish whiskies first

Same thought I had and I gave in. I paid 95 for the bottle. Which might have been a little high but oh well.
