It was pretty hyped and mostly sold out within a few days. About a month later a smaller shipment come into Nola. I got an extra bottle then.
Speaking of that. Martins put out more of their MM Private Select. I asked them which batch this was and not sure I got an accurate answer. But, of course bought a bottle so, pouring the open bottle from Elios

Good news and bad news post:
The Mystic Krewe Eagle Rare Barrel is held hostage at Republic until Downton restaurants can reopen. So our timeline is Latoyas timeline.
We have been approved THIS year for a Blantons barrel and a Sazerac Rye Barrel. We are told Weller barrels are imminent.
Needless to say, these will be more limited than previous barrels; but I am excited to keep these bottles in LA to friends (especially the sazerac, which I have a great historical connection to).

It’s interesting where these distilleries ship certain labels. I’m in Atlanta. We can’t even sniff weller antique here but up in Ohio it’s in most stores. My cousin sends me cases in trade for McKenna, 4r small batch select, angles envy and random other bottles.
Here in ATL I can get larceny bp at any store. It’s in demand but restocked all the time.
If anyone is interested in some regional selection trades(no money) on here I’d be down. Sucks with this no traveling stuff right now.

All that want one will get the Eagle Rare.
While I personally dont love blantons, I will get everything I can. That Saz will be tough though since we are in the first round and my source for these barrels sells a lot of it.
I am just excited that Sazerac is getting a barrel program. I was at an art fundraiser when Goldring announced it to a circle of 5 people (I was the only one that gave a shite). He also said New Orleans and La in general would be heavily favored in the allocation of these barrels (at least in the beginning). I hope the latter info is true too.
Looking forward to Weller picks soon...
