Buquet hasn't been able to get it. Canebrake can't meet the demand is what they are telling me. They will get it down here but they don't know when it will happen.

Well I talked to Leith. He said he would be fine with yall carrying some Mudbugs for sure once they get up and running.

Thanks. I definitely would like to support local.

Yeah having some local flavor in the bars/grills in the area would be nice! I just went out to Tampa last month and my cousin was good friends with a manager at hooters. We all went out and they guy that managed at hooters took us to one of his places and hooked us up. Out there of course they have the Yuengling! They also had some other brews from in the area, but nice to be able to order something other than Bud, Coors, or Miller.

One of the reasons I loved having our pageant in Miami was that I could drink Yuengling. I bought one for my owner and he said he wanted it in his stores. Sorry bud, that ain't happening anytime soon. I'm starting slow with the craft beers because I still feel like this is a hard market to sell them consistently. I still get funny looks when I mention anything other than the usual domestics. Abita is probably the farthest they will go from their usual.

Yeah that makes sense for that market. I know that they will be trying to do some sort of festival with all kinds of beer vendors. Might want to talk to them and maybe y'all can team up and make it pretty big. Houma/Thib area has the potential for some good stuff, but I'm not gonna lie...I still head over to BR or Nola to do most of my fun stuff on the weekends

Do you know if their opening date is still set around April 20th? I stopped by yesterday but the building is tented and couldn't tell if any one was there.
Also i usually go to Rouse's for my beer on St. Charles, but yesterday went to Cannatas and they have every thing that Rouse's does plus more.

I'll definitely do that. I'm sure they will want some food out at a festival like that. Fried pickles would be easy and cheap to do. Just a little something to soak up the beer.

Don't want to start a new thread and this one seems to have some traffic. I'll be in Pierre part then Gonzales this weekend, is there any canebreak left to be had anywhere?

It sounds hit or miss with the supply. One would almost think that they are doing this as a marketing ploy.

Not a marketing ploy. Parish is currently using 80% of its capacity on canebrake. The owner told me he wished he never made it and could focus more on big beers. Although, im sure he isnt complaining about the steady income flow from canebrake. He cant grow the brewery fast enough to keep up with demand.

That's good to hear. Sounds like keeping a limited supply is helping the buzz about the beer. Just tell him to take care of me!

What are some good beers that can be had at rouses or Canatas. Always looking for different beers

I really haven't had a problem finding it and I don't look for it. Albertsons had some for $9/6pack

I really don't shop too much at those stores. I usually get my beers when I go out of town. The only time I drink at home is when I am drinking bourbon and listening/watching LSU. That is why I am looking forward to this place. It will get me out a little bit more and drink some great beers. I'm not a fan of going out in Houma. Too many people just looking for a fight for no reason it seems.

Supposedly Ralph's near Pelican Pointe has/had it at one time. I dont know if they still do.

Anything that helps spread the word about craft beer can only be a good thing!
