Any recommendations for food or adult beverages before the LSU vs Ole Miss game in Oxford this weekend? I will be with my 29 year old daughter (no pics) and I am 62. We will probabaly arrive in town around 11 a.m. and the game is at 5 p.m. I know everyone says, just go to the square, but specific recommendations would be appreciated. We like to eat and drink for our pre-game.

Bourre is always a solid go to

Ajax is an institution for a "meat & three" meal.

City Grocery upstairs for a drink if it's open.

You won’t get a reservation anywhere this close to game. If it’s a small party, I’d just walk around and see who has seats. It’s a small town.

Go to Rafter’s right off the square on Jackson Ave.

Kid from Lafayette created menu.

Good food
Typically good music.
Very tolerant of LSU fans

Keep your beer in a cup. Oxford popo won’t think twice about harassing a 60 year old and daughter for some open containers on game day.

Stop at the gas station and get some chicken on a stick and some beers then take them to the grove.
