Went to Salumi in Sept. Got there at 10:45 and were first in line. Had the Oxtail poboy special of the day. It was outstanding.
Also did the tasting menu at Wild Ginger which was very good.
Nishino had very fresh and high quality sushi if you like that.
Did the Lola donut holes in the bag dealie. Liked those as well.
Enjoy your stay!

I visiting Seattle all week. Anyone know the "must eats" in the pacific northwest?
i enjoyed salumi but wasn't blown away. maybe it's suffered from too much hype? i'd still encourage you to go though, because it's good stuff- we got sticks of the house, mole, and finocchiona salamis.
paseo is a great lunch spot [caribbean food and great pork sandwiches] if you're near fremont.
bottleworks in wallingford for top-quality local beers. they've even got several taps.
and june for fine dining.
skip le panier. it isn't worth a shite. if you want a real bakery go to nouveau.

Was in Seattle for LSU game last September and two great restaurants are Steelhead Diner and for brunch Cafe Champagne - wonderful French restaurant. Both close to Pikes Mkt.

IMO, Douglas' best restaurant is called Palisade. It's in a cool location under the Magnolia Bridge. It's Northwest seafood with a polynesian twist. I ate there just last week and it was great as always.
Powerman is right about the Met for steaks.
There's an Italian place on East Lake Union called Serafina that is really good also.

That was my favorite meal when we went up for the UW game last year. They had an awesome trio of Halibut dish that was perhaps the best fish I've ever had.

yep. I had some halibut there last week. It was salt, pepper and lemon juice only - and it was perfect.
