Definitely comfort food to me. Now, I may switch from tacos tonight to pulling some meatballs and sauce from the freezer.

Sautee up diced onion, garlic, and carrot. Add a 28 oz can of tomato puree and some fresh chopped basil. Let that simmer for an hour then transfer to a food processor and blend it well. Add back to the pan and season to taste. If it's still acidic, add a little butter a couple tablespoons at a time until it's good.

Also try the Italian sausage poboy add eggplant.
If you're lucky you might even get yelled at... certainly stared at.
