i wouldn't think a little smoky would be all that satisfying to you ..
Not sure where you going with that, but I'm sure it's insulting.
Now tell me your recipe.

Roasted Garlic and Sauteed Cherry Tomatoes with Basil and Feta Cheese on a Toasted Bread (Any crusty bread sliced thin).
A Mediterranean hummus dip. Layers of Hummus, Seasoned Ground Lamb (with Greek seasoning), Tzatziki, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Kalamata Olives, Tzatziki and Feta Cheese.
Sausage stuffed mushrooms. Basically Ina Garten's recipe with splashes of Tabasco. It might actually be Ree Drummond's recipe that I altered as well.
Cream Cheese with Jalapeno Pepper Jelly (Homemade or Cajun Power).
Some good ones off the top of my head.

Produce markets. Or any "higher end" grocery.

this.
but, you can ask your grocer to order some for you on their next produce order if they don't stock it.

Not sure if mentioned, but filling the dates with a nice herb and olive oil flavored ricotta really elevates this app. Don't short the salt or pepper in the ricotta. Last time I made, I was worried the bacon and salt from the cheese would over power the date but I was wrong. Taste the date first, but I think it can handle an aggressively seasoned riccota plus the bacon.

Here's a news flash: some things are actually good on their own without addition of a marinade or dipping sauce.
And where the frick are you eating little smokies? I don't think I've seen anybody serve those since a pot luck I attended at an Episcopal church in 1998.

I made "pigs 'n blankets" with smokies and Pillsbury crescent rolls a couple months ago. Deal with it.

Yes he does.
I'm accustomed to it and expect it - it's part of the FDB.

Bacon wrapped dates slit down the middle with a little cream cheese-please allow to cool before biting into one, molten sticky dates will make pizza palate seem like a spa day!
Oysters in a tin cup with a sliver or garlic, goat cheese, lemon juice, & cracked black pepper done up on the grill

Didn't comment on your affinity for them, I was remarking upon the fact that I didn't even know people ate these anymore. I thought they went out the window with spray cheese and Tang.

check THIS THREAD for some good appetizer ideas. I posted in it my bacon wrapped dates recipe. In short:
pit the dates
stuffed with mixture of ricotta, salt, pepper and herbs de provence (you also can add chorizo per GrisGris' recommendation .. which I think would add needed flavor and savoriness - dates can be so so sweet)
wrap with one slice of bacon and secure with toothpick
roast at 450F for 15-20 minutes
