Eating before or after the game?

It'll probably determine your guests appetite.

You will get approximately % 50 yield on a whole hog, and even less on smaller pigs. If you are going thru the trouble, make sure you have leftovers. The average guest will eat 6-7 ounces finished product, while the big fellas in the group will graze away a pound. Say your average consumption is 10oz per baw/bawette meaning you will need about 10 lb meat for 15 not considering leftovers. I wouldn't go less than 30lb dressed, but personally I would go bigger and put away some goodness in the freezer.
