I want to get an insta pot. I'm just not sure what size... 6qt. vs. 8qt. Also what number of functions... 6 vs 8 vs 10?
Y'all got any input??

A six is standard crockpot size right?

That’s what I’ve got on my amazon list.

I have the 6 quart duo plus. Like it a lot.
I have never said it isn't big enough.
In hindsight, I wish I would have gotten the 8 though.

Get the biggest one you can. You'll think you won't need it, but you will wish you had it. I have a 6 qt. and a 3-4 pound pot roast fills it pretty damned full. I wish I'd gotten the 8 qt. As for the functions, I don't really need the model with 10 functions. I'm not all about making yogurt in my pressure cooker. Saute, pressure cook, slow cook, rice cook, and that's really about all I need in the way of functions. The only automatic button I use is the rice button. I don't use the stuff like the soup function. If I'm cooking, I just set it manually for the pressure and time I want.

8 qt volume, though, that I do regret passing on.

We have the 8qt, and is pretty big, make sure you have somewhere to store it. You can fit a 2-pack of chuck roast from Sams or Costco in the 8qt, I don't think this will fit in the 6. Hard to beat 1.5 gallons of roast and gravy for $25. The insert also works well as a sous vide vessel. I use maybe three of the functions.

I have an 8 quart and I cooked a 9 pound full turkey in it this past weekend for gumbo. I say go with the bigger size.
