I think it's safe to say most people who go there fall into 3 categories
1) young people who don't know any better/dont care
2) people who get dragged there by friends who belong to number 1
3) people who need to drink so badly that they are complacent with 4 dollar bud lights in a rank, smoky pile of bricks

Who owns it? That older bartender?

Worst place in the overpass area IMO.

If I decide to go with people to Ivars its as if I've conceded to having a mediocre night.
I avoid it even during the St. Patrick's Day Parade festivities.
Thankfully, if I am talked into going to Ivar's, I can leave there and quickly walk to ZZ's, Chelsea's, Duvic's, Schlitz & Giggles, or Rock-N-Sake. That seems to be one of the only positive things I can find to say about Ivar's.
It's a shame that an establishment with a good location, decent floor plan, and ample parking seems to reinvest so little in basic maintenance and improvements.

Saying they run up your tab is an understatement. Last time I was in there I opened a tab and got 2 of the same mixed drink. When I closed my tab later it was $38.75. I'm not sure how they got to the 0.75 cents with 2 identical drinks but whatever.
OT version of what happened next: I raised 6 types of hell and demanded to speak to Pat. He quickly apologized comped my tab and handed me a $50 certificate for my troubles.
Actual story: I signed my tab and made a comment to my friend about how the overweight bartender probably put her chicken fingers on my tab.

So, what the hell is the $19.37 and 1/2 cent drink on the offering at freaking Ivars?
Do tell.

Just looking at my tab from Saturday: 1 jim beam, 3 budweisers, and 1 flat Restoration Ale= $39.00
I will never give them a cent of my business again

Ivar's is also the WORST bar to watch a game - terrible TV's, terrible sound system. And that's if you can find a table or a bar seat (because all of the old blues and greys that frequent the bar reserve every table and bar stool - yes, they take reservations for bar stools.)

They only take reservations for Shingleton, Pace and the other toad stools that still pay Pat with a smile.
Call up and try to reserve one.
Place sucks but as has been said, some of the best wings in town.

IDK who these people are but if they're anything like your average Ivars regular over 50 I can assume they are wretched individuals
