The cookie bowl is probably one of the greatest things I've ever eaten.

People can trash the food, but changing the way in which the food is prepared and ordered was one the best business decisions they ever made.

The food wasn't bad when they opened but everything was being prepared fresh which means higher raw food costs and higher labor costs. After six months, they realized that their cash cow (like most restaurants) was their alcohol sales. Regardless of the quality of the food, their alcohol sales wouldn't change much because of the restaurant's location, the tremendous amount of progressive advertising, and ties to LSU sports.

So they cut back on food costs by purchasing more frozen items that can be prepared quickly, thus ensuring faster serving times and higher table turnover. The result was actually an increase in overall sales in the following six months.

So while the food may be adequate at best, it is intentional and their business is booming.

The service there is worse than the food though. It's borderline Dick's Last Resort comical.
