That sounds yummy. I have a weird craving for beer. The hosts will probably prefer the wine. Hell, maybe I'll get both. Live dangerously I always say.

Do so. Pick up a couple of bombers of Rogue from Calandro's and a bottle of red.

A couple of bottles of a 16.00-20.00 Malbec is what I would look for.
Achaval Ferrer's Mendoza Malbec fits this bill. Very good wine at this price point.

Cooked down mushrooms and onions. Browned off deer tenderloin that I cubed. Added flour and beef stock to make a gravy. Served it over mashed potatoes. Just what I needed.

Dead Guy will be a crowd pleaser. I think their stouts are some of the best beers they make. They make several stouts--double chocolate, imperial, etc.

Pretty much any of them. Hazelnut and Sublimely Self Righteous are both great. Dead Guy is good as well. Stone is a great brewery as well.

Easy to do. So many good beers out there. What a great time we live in.

Boiled crawfish and jumbo shrimp at Shuck n Jive in Mandeville. First time here and place looks like it will bs very good and successful. Formal review forthcoming. Blackened fish appetizer just showed up.
