Though perfection for us is unattainable, we are not given a license to sin. “The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but he loves those who pursue righteousness” (Proverbs 15). Always strive to follow the path of righteousness. Renouncing sin is the first step in living a moral life, but that ultimately is not our calling. We are to move beyond the mere moral and to the religious, to the realm of love where we no longer see ourselves as the center of the universe. Instead, we see the God who made us in love and who commands us to love others as that center. Such a realm has not a desire for sin anymore, for sin has an unbearable stench. Might I suggest we read Paul’s epistle to the church at Rome at some point together?

I was quite pleased to see that Great Value smoked oysters are still a favorite of the Food Board. Saltines are fine, but Great Value Cantina tortilla chips are even a better accompaniment.
