You can buy really big russets at Sams and probably Costco. Some people will take two smaller (shorter) russets, cut off the end of them and sandwich them together, seal the cut with duct tape and roast them that way to get a much bigger (longer) baked potato. You want to use that low adhesive residue duct tape. if you do that, or maybe just wait until they come out of the oven and push them together.

Sam's sometimes has the big ones but more often Costco has the giant ones. At least in my experience. Some supermarkets have the big ones as well.

I've seen this approach with egg rolls. Not sure that it quite took off, but it was a sound concept.
