my threshold to wait for a table there is about 5 minutes. Good place to catch a Saturday afternoon basketball game at the bar though, if there's a seat available when you get there.

Totally agree with this assessment. The fact that it is consistently packed proves the theory of that area being a food desert. There is NOTHING from 119 down to Alex City. Nothing.

My bass club meets at Hickory Tavern at Brookwood mall. I haven't been in a while, but I want to see how the food compares. It is certainly FAR less crowded.

There are a handful of places between 119 and Chelsea, but not many. Jim N Nick's, Baumhower's, Amore(more fine dining), if you want to count the places in Mt Laurel though it's a few miles off 280, Table 31 in Chelsea, Applebee's, Cajun Boys(also about 1/2 mile off 280). After Chelsea though, nothing.

I do think that place will clean up though because it's so easy for people in Greystone and Brook Highland, and even Leeds, to get there without having to get on 280. Throw in the post-church crowd with Church Of the Highlands Greystone campus and Church of Brook Hills right there. I'd imagine they'll get close to making their budget on Saturdays and Sundays, and their sales during the week will just be gravy. Our server said they've slowed down tremendously during the week.

Spleen or anyone else been yet? I told the wife we were going this weekend to watch a game or two and check it out. Hoping it delivers on the sports bar experience. I really want a good one in Bham.

I've been twice now. You'll love it as far as the sports bar is concerned. Tv's everywhere and you get a good view anywhere you sit.

I've only been during the week for lunch, and it has been packed every time. Seats at the bar were usually available with no wait though. They also have tables with a couple minikegs at the table that you can pour your own beer. Really cool concept.

Food has been good, for what I'm expecting from it. First time I went, they were clearly having kitchen issues, so everything took forever and was a little lacking. I had the Jalepeno jack burger and fries. Burger was good, just not what I wanted it to be. Didn't have the heat I was expecting it to. Second time I went, got the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. This was a massive sandwich and I really enjoyed it.

I like their Black Jack chicken sandwich. I'm assuming y'alls has the same menu as the locations in LA.

From what I can tell, it looks like the same menu.

I know the black jack was on it. I'll give it a try the next time I am there for lunch.
