Don’t do it. I don’t remember them grading their crawfish before this year. I usually avoid fiesta for bigger boils because their quality is hit or miss. But I will grab a sack for a small boil if they are running a special sale. I got a sack of “medium” crawfish 2 weeks ago and they were the tiniest I have ever seen. It wasn’t worth it.

Off topic, but i bought some fiesta crawfish a couple years ago when they were running one of these specials. The guy in front of me had a few pounds in a plastic bag and asked me what I “planned on doing with all that crawfish.” I was a tad confused. I said i am going to boil and eat them. I mean, what the hell else would you do? He then said that he was using his as fish bait...I though he was joking but he was dead serious. I don’t even...

I've had very mixed luck with Fiesta. Sometimes they are fine but I've gotten a lot of dead ones too.

FYI, they will take the dead ones back. Me and some buddies had to go trough and hand sort two sacks once and because there were so many dead crawfish. It was a pain in the arse but we picked out 15 lbs of dead ones. I took them back to Fiesta, they weighed them, and gave me cash.

If you want market prices and good quality try Cajun Crawfish Company. You have to drive to Lewisville though.

UPDATE: Surprisingly out of 220 lbs, only about 10 crawfish were dead. They were decently sized, too. Zero complaints. The boil was great! If you are in Dallas, Fiesta on Ross has the cheapest crawfish I've seen in years.

Glad it worked out. I'd still exercise caution for using them for big boils. It may depend on the location, but it is hit or miss. Mine doesn't know a thing about crawfish and keeping them alive. They tried giving me some in a plastic bag that had been knotted at the top so no air could get in. I had to poke holes with my car keys.

Glad it worked out. Telling my family in Dallas to look for that for an upcoming weekend I will be heading there for. Now are you ready to open that snowball place this summer?

Unfortunately, had to hold off. Will try again for next summer. Things just didn't line up right this year.
