Upcoming Orlando trip. Would you make the drive to Bern's (Tampa)?

I've been to Bern's before and I throughly enjoyed it. My wife and kids have not. And my kids (and wife) enjoy a great meal.

Would you make the approximate 1 hour and 20 minute drive? We'll be in Orlando for 9 days, so it's not like we won't have time.

My wife recently started developing a taste for wine, mostly whites. I think she would enjoy this, plus a tour of the kitchen (kids as well). Plus the kids would thoroughly enjoy the dessert room upstairs.

The best thing about Bern's, in my opinion, is how well priced their older wines are. The few times I've been, they've been pouring 30 year old wines by the glass and charging $8/glass. I realize that kind of thing isn't for everyone, but it's a great place to get a reference for older wines, and different types of wines. The first time I went there, I went expecting to see a bunch of trendy wines on the list and it's not that kind of place. If you have an open mind, check it out. Also: the place is decorated like a brothel, so be prepared for that.

Done. I didn't need too much convincing. I think we'll stay one night in Tampa (the night of our reservation at Bern's) and make a day out of Tampa as well.

Bern's is amazing.

Have been twice (last time about 5? years ago), can't wait to go again next time I'm in Tampa.

Yea i was going to recommend to may stay in tampa for a couple days, then it doesn't feel like you drove all the way there just for a dinner
