Just tried this new place that replaced the Greek and Lebanese Cafe at 8312 Florida Blvd.
I never had Turkish food before and it’s close to my office so I took some coworkers and gave it a shot.
There were some of the traditional items on the menu that I was familiar with such as hummus, gyro, and shawarma. Then there were some things I haven’t seen before.
They have their appetizer menu separated into a cold section and hot section. We ordered a couple of items off of the hot menu which I forget the name of the dish. It was two types of rolls kinda like spring rolls with a phyllo wrapper. One set was stuffed with cheeses and the others with meat and fried. Both were tasty. We liked the meat stuffed ones better. They waitress brought us a complimentary plate of various dips from their cold appetizer menu. It contained multiple options to include hummus, a minced carrot salad, something that looked like salsa, some kind of smoked eggplant mash, another eggplant with red sauce, and a type of potato salad. The only thing on the plate I had tried before was the hummus.
The waitress recommended a kabob with a ground lamb mix which was compressed and formed into shape around the flat metal type kabob. It was excellent. Came with a side choice of rice or bulgur. I had to google what bulgur was and went with it for my side option. Bulgur was ok, tasted a lot like rice.
Overall I would recommend. We will be going back. We talked to another table that liked everything they ordered.
This was my entree:
