Does anyone have recommendations about cooking a turducken on the grill? (How long, Covered or uncovered, which side up?) I have a Big Green Egg and I have smoked a bunch of turkeys and they come out great. This is my first attempt at the turducken so I don't want to F it up. Or should I just bake it to be safe? Thanks

aren't you afraid it will fall apart?
I would definately have it in an aluminum pan with drip tray, it will still get the grill affect and you won't have to worry about scrapping it off the bottom of the grill.

I was planning on wrapping it in foil and putting on roaster rack.

do you have a platesetter? if not i wouldn't even try it. but if you do I would set the green egg up at the same temp you would bake it in the oven and just let it go.

I do have the plate setter. I was going to set a drip pan with liquid on the plate setter to keep it moist and with a indirect heat. My orginal thought was around 325-350 degrees.

Sounds like a good plan. I normally don't use a drip pan filled with water. If feel like I don't need it with the BGE.

I agree. Sometimes the water pan makes it too moist inside the egg as well.

How did this turn out? Looking to do the same thing tomorrow for NYE and the Chicken Bowl. Would rather keep the oven available so daughter can bake desserts.

TIA.
