forced to substitute monkfish for something called "Triple Tail"

You were lucky, hardly forced. Triple tail is an amazing tasting fish as I'm sure you are well aware of now.

Sight cast them around crab bouys, real fun if you've got a tiller. You can see them as you pass by. You make a big loop and decide where to cast on it. So fun. You've got to have a good eye for them, it's not easy to say the least.

Only fish here on the coast that makes a spec taste mediocre. You fry a batch of both and see which one is left. The triple tail is horded it's so good.

Brock, you should know that MiLa is way to serious of a restaurant to serve Laotian tilapia crap.

I was kidding, dude. Don't want you thinking I'm that bad.

But I was curious to see if it was a "downgrade" of some kind...so next time I see it somewhere, I will definitely try it.

I actually got the flatiron steak at MiLa (which was quite a nice surprise), so I only got to have a few bites of the triple tail.

It's actually quite a nice amount of steak, too. I wish they would have separated the potatoes, since they were so damn good on their own.

As usual, though...very few people inside.

Please don't judge your tripletail experience from a restaurant... There is a night and day difference depending on how you cook it

MiLa nevers seems overly packed, but the food stands up well against any restaurant in town. The location is improving with the Roosevelt, the Wyndham opening in the old Sear building (across street) and another hotel on canal next to the Ritz about to start work.

Very, very much so. And the lunch prix fixe is as good as anything out there.

Get yourself a large calcutta cane pole a large live shrimp and HOLD ON.

It is the peek of the season right now for them but the waters here are closed ...
