There'll be plenty of Rockets fan tears left if you get thirsty.

Walking distance

Upscale:
Potente - Italian
Vic & Anthony’s - Steakhouse
Xochi - Mexican

Casual:
Pappasito’s : TexMex
Ossa & Kristalla : Italian

The Grove is by the park, serviceable American food. Grotto is an Italian chain in the Convention Center down from Pappasitos. Market Bar May work, in a hotel a block over.

Excellent advice here.
