The best time to go to City Cafe is during brunch. I have found that their brunch menu items are much better than the regular menu.

Brunch is killer, cant go wrong with the hangover hamburger. Wife loves the bottomless champagne for $6.

Portobello's does brunch also. I've been meaning to try it but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll try the gumbo next time I go. My favorite gumbo in the area is probably the duck (chicken) and sausage gumbo at The Chimes, one of the few things I like there.

Squeaky always comes over and shakes my hand. That makes me feel wanted...I heart Squeaky, but they have this one waitress who just dominates a pair of jeans with her tight little arse, and I heart her a little more than I do Squeaky.

The cocktails there are money too, and very reasonably priced.

I fear that I could be easily IRL outed tonight, because Tuesday night is when City Cafe has their special on the oysters. The talk about the chargrilled oysters in this thread has got me yearning for them badly along with a couple (4) of cold draft beers.

I may be at the Cafe this evening as well. Hot chargrilled oysters on a cold day sounds good.
