A lot of jambalaya cooks on here like to season their jambalaya with Kim Leblanc's Creole Seasoning. The rule of thumb is an 8 ounce can for every 5 pounds of rice. But what if you just want to make a stovetop batch, or you're not using a multiple of 5 pounds?

This little calculator will simplify things quite a bit:

Leblanc's Seasoning Calculator

You're giving away all the secrets!

There's a reason many contests don't allow pre-mixed seasoning. Turns the competition into nothing but a rice cooking contest.

Does the amount amount of seasoning per batch include the seasoning that is used to season the pork when browning?

yes, when using Leblanc's ratio of 1 can per 5 pounds of rice, that is the total amount of seasoning, use some with browning and the rest when you add water

important note, when using Leblanc's at the above ratio, do not use stock, only water as if you use stock it will be too salty

so just use plain water if you use the leblanc's ratio?

no bouillon cubes or anything?
