Been wanting to try them, found some at Trader Joes the other week, I ate all of them in 3 days. Got some more from Sam's Club a few days ago.
By far my favorite orange I've had in a while, a bit pricey however.

What's the flavor profile like? Are they a sweeter variety?

My wife will go through 3-4 a week and always grab more from the store when they are in season. Those and champagne mangos.

A bit pricey but I buy them when I see them. They are a bit on the sweeter side, which I like. The best part about them is how easy they are to peel. Your hands don't get all sticky peeling these like you do with most oranges.

they are a mandarin variant. I would say as sweet as the sweetest satsuma you have ever had but still with a bit of tartness to go with it, and like another poster said, super easy to peel, great snack to eat on the go

Yes, when I can find them at a good price.
Interesting tidbits. Took 30 year to propagate and a tree about four full years to bear fruit.

I've never had a Sumo orange but will be on the lookout for them to give them a try.
For a while, Costco had "Cotton Candy Grapes" in stock and they were a bit more money than the regular red, black and green seedless they sell. I bought a container of them and I'll be damned if they didn't taste like eating cotton candy as they were that sweet.
Haven't seen them in stock in a while, but will buy them again if they have them.
