Creamed Pearl Onions w/ Shallots & Crispy Red Onion

I did not get photos of all the steps.

Thawed some pearl onions, sliced some red onion, shallots, diced some garlic.

The caramelized shallots and garlic were combined with softened cream cheese and grated aged cheddar, with the pearl onions folded in. Freshly grated nutmeg added before popping in the oven for 30 min at 350.

I fried the thinly sliced red onion in oil until crispy. I failed to get a shot of the crispy onions draining on paper towels, seasoned with a little salt. They are sweet and salty!

Topped with bacon, garlic chives, green onion, and crispy red onion.

Yesterday I avoided looking at the submission thread because I knew I’d be intimidated by the submissions. Wow. Smart move on my part. Y’all are amazing and awesome and every over or under used adjective you can think of.

Me too, but I hesitate to discount it, as much as it pains me. Like t00f’s entry one time, but I forget what it was.

I would have discounted it instantly. But that's why you're the best at running these challenges.

Here ya go.

It was a joke, you can always check images on tinyeye.com or I think google has a reverse image search. Right click on image and copy the address and paste it into the search box on TE.

Ha! I knew it had to be in an article on the site, but didn’t see the search icon and didn’t have time to look.

Y’all, I knew it was a smart arse entry, but I am in an awkward position about throwing out someone’s submission, no matter how dumb I think it is. (Sorry, TCO.)

The fact that it’s not his pic does give me a valid reason to delete it from the voting thread. So I will.

Good-looking hunk of red onion though.

Sho was. I thought a big bite taken out of it like a apple would have been funny.
