I've always purchased from the grocery. Where can I buy some quality plants to grow my own? What variety should I be looking for?

Put them in a paper bag to ripen them. They will turn red in under 2 or 3 days.

If there's a Publix in your area, they have an heirloom tomato called Ugly Ripe. Not as good as home grown but by far the best store bought tomato. I get them in the winter.

Good tip, just like with bananas! Thanks

Is it too late to plant?
Not at all, old tradition was to plant on good Friday.
I am following that tradition this year, even though I should be floating and taping sheetrock.

Celebrity has done well for me for many years. I also have been planting the new Bella Rosa which has produced tons of tomatoes the last few years.

My seedlings look like they didn't make it. A few popped up quickly, and then when I checked last night they were laying down. A couple new ones popped up though. I may put them in a pot so they have a deeper area to root in.

I generally agree. However, I cannot give up pizza.
