In lieu of an out of town summer vacation, my household elected to do a "dining out staycation"....basically, my better half's schedule won't allow any trips for the next 8 weeks, so I'm spending my vacation money by dining out. Trying to hit some of the endless array of new places popping in NOLA & environs. So, what's on your haven't-tried-it-yet list?

So far, we managed to go to Hippie Kitchen last weekend. I think Turkey & the Wolf is next up....

Have you been to Maypop yet? Probably my favorite meal in the past year

Adding Maypop to the list, fo sho.
The best place for boiled crabs is my back screen porch, which requires no drive to Ruddock at all.

We've been meaning to get out to one of the monthly Counter Club meals at Toups South. Think June just passed.

Luvi

Marjie's Grill

Of course I'll put things on my list and either never go or finally go after years of seeing it on my list (I'm talking about you Paladar 511, and I'm sorry it took me so long).

I'll add my Maypop endorsement to the others.

Ooh, yes, Marjie’s. Deffo.
Saba—I’ll get there, but probably not until Sept; I work in the area, so it’s not on my “summer hit list”. Trying to get to different parts of the city where I don’t spend as much time as my usual armpit of Uptown.

Went to Saba last week and I feel Shaya has a lot better menu. Tasted a lot of things and nothing was memorable. The hummus with crabmeat was the best bite. I feel like Alon had to go to his 2nd string dishes since he cannot really copy Shaya's menu.
