The only condition is no BBQ. After living in Memphis, I have learned not to try BBQ in VA.
Moving back after 9 years, and might have a dinner with my divorced parents.

Did you find a place on the South Side of Richmond? I have enjoyed Southbound in the Stony Point Shopping Center off of Huegenot. Tazza is good as well, has wood-fired pizzas, and promotes their use of local ingredients. Wood and Iron is has been pretty good as well but I can't attest to everything, mainly their smoked wings.
There's also a Joe's Inn on the South Side, FWIW.

Yes, moving back on the 19th.
I remember Joe's Inn being good.
This must be new from I lived there. Is this in the restaurant spot, on the far left side, looking at it from Forrest Hill?
Where is Tazzo and Wood and Fire. Don't know them either.
Further away, but anyone been to Plant Zero Cafe? Heard they are open for dinner now, and I was friends with the owner in high school, and right after.

There are two Tazza's in Richmond. One in Midlothian near the Chesterfield Mall and one up on Short Pump near off of Three Chopt near the mall. Wood and Iron is located on the corner-ish of Huguenot and Robious. It is near a large Kroger and a Ruth Chris' Steakhouse in the Bellgrade Shopping Center.
Southbound is near where Forest Hill and Huguenot meet. There is a great ice cream place in the same shopping area called Gelati Celasti. There are a couple of Gelati Celesti's in the Richmond area, and it is a local company.
I know there are a couple of places in the Manchester area that get some good reviews, including Larua Lee's right on Semmes across from the Patrick Henry school.
I haven't been to Plant Zero Cafe. I won't be of much help if you are looking for anything south of Midlothian. Best of luck with your move back to the Richmond area.

Thank you for your help. Wood and Iron will be minutes away.
I will be near Robious and Old Gun. Have actually walked there in the past, but no way I can still find the path through the woods now.

I believe Peter Chang has a handful of restaurants in that area. World class Sichuan cooking.

I just looked. Yeah, he has two in the area, one in the city, and another in Western suburb.
